German Village

This past weekend, Ciel and I got to tag along on a trip up to Columbus.  Daddy was busy so we went  off and had a short little adventure at a little German village, in the city.  I love old buildings and architecture.  There is much character in a place, just like the first apartment Clifford and I lived in.  With limited space and yard, I love the choice of decorations some of the residents chose for Christmas.  No crazy blow up decorations and yard full of plastic displays but just simple, tasteful lights and evergreens.

Ciel and I took the opportunity to warm up from our walk at a local bookstore, the Book Loft, which apparently is the largest independent bookstore in the country.  Very cutely laid out too.  A couple of old buildings combined together making up to 32 rooms of books, various genres of books.  Wished we had more time to browse through the books available but we were glad even for the short time we had.  Here are some of photos from our adventures.
Enjoy. :)

Till next post, Merry Christmas everyone!

Washington DC

Apart from being able to go out and do a fun family session for the Chan family this past summer, we were also able to go do a bit of sight seeing on our own while we were in DC.

The DC LDS temple was closed but it was still nice to be able to walk around and enjoy the beauty of the temple grounds.  Definitely one of the things I missed about Utah is the availability of temples in such close distances to visit often.  The nearest ones to us are about 2 hours away from Cincinnati.  It's not that bad but it can be a long day when you have a little toddler with you.

We also got to visit the Washington DC National Mall.  Now mind you, the mall mentioned here is not a shopping mall that most people would think about.  There are no departmental stores, boutiques, etc but mostly monuments of historical importance and significance to the United States.
It's a huge park and we did lots of walking.  Even Ciel impressed us with her walking stamina.  We had the stroller with us of course and she climbed back on it when she needs to rest her little legs. Hehe.

Thank goodness my pregnancy nausea and vomiting has not gone full blast during on this trip or it would have made it difficult.  We had a lot of fun and and enjoyed a lot of good Asian food with the Chans, while we were there.

Here are some photos from the trip.  Enjoy. :)

Chan Family

Just before summer ended, flew out to the DC area to spend some time with this amazing family.

They met, fell in love, and are blessed with 2 most sweetest boys.
Here are some of my favourites from that day.

Enjoy!

Thanks again, Chan family for being so awesome!

Update!

My consistency in updating my blog has been slacking lately.
I have been deciding to just go back to once weekly so as to spend less time on the computer and more time with the family.  Along with that, we have also been out of town recently.

What fun it has been to be able to fly to Virginia to capture this family and doing a little bit touring around Washington DC area for the weekend.

Stay tune for more!

Indianapolis

Less than 2 hours away, this city is a gem.
The architectures, the old charm, I am not sure why I have not heard much of Indiana before besides the fact that it is one of the states in the US.

We started our adventure at the Museum of Arts.  I am excited for the day when Ciel would be able to appreciate the arts just as I have.  For now, we suffice our visits by walking through a little too quickly and trying to avoid Ciel from banging into the walls as she adamantly think she knows better on how to push her own stroller.

Then we took a walk in the city.  We saw probably 6-7 wedding parties and a quinceanera there, getting their formals taken around the city.  It is quite the photographer's heaven there. ;)

Well, I have blabbered much.
Here are some of our adventures in photos.
Enjoy.

Labor Day/ Merdeka!

It's Labor Day/ Merdeka Weekend.
For those who don't know, Merdeka Day is Malaysian's Independence Day.
So both Malaysia and the US have a nice three day weekend to enjoy.

We kicked off the weekend with a fun BBQ gathering with some friends to celebrate the end of summer and then by taking a drive and checking out Indianapolis, Indiana.

I am also excited at the fact that we get to have Clifford with us one more day. :)

Stay tune for more.

Hope you are having an amazing weekend too.

Ciel

Sigh.
How did this girl grow up so fast?

She is saying so many words, imitating, and has her own opinions about things these days.
She also loves Sesame Street and Disney's Frozen.
The two things we watch almost daily.

Fresh hand picked apricots from Great Grandma's backyard
Words cannot convey the deep love we have for her.

(Even if she sometimes creep quietly out of her bed to scare the heck out of me by coming to my bedside in the middle of the night these days!)
